Apprentice Appreciation Dinner for Chef
Kurt
A group of ex-apprentices from The Coach
House got together a few weeks ago and
put together an appreciation dinner for
Kurt Fleischfresser, their mentor.
Each of the graduates of the Coach
House culinary program assisted in planning
and executing the dinner, which was extremely
well recieved by the patrons who attended.
After
the five course feast, the apprentices
came into the dining room and presented
Chef Kurt with a silver trophy engraved
with the names of all of the past apprentices
and a diary which was inscribed by the
former students and will be added to by
future graduates of the Coach House program.
Kurt
was especially suprised and pleased by
the attendance of his mentor,
Chef Bernard Cretier, under
whom he had apprenticed in Chicago over
15 years ago. Chef Cretier flew
down for the evening and had wonderful
things to say about his protege, who has
done so well professionally and trained
so many more young chefs.
